About the MyWishes family

The MyWishes has two sister platforms:

  • MyWishes
  • MyWishes Care

The two are very different to one another. They are united in the mission for everyone’s wishes and preferences to be documented and adhered to in the future.

The two approaches ensure that each person’s wishes are appropriately documented at their current stage of life.

About MyWishes (MyWishes.co.uk)

MyWishes was founded in 2018 with a mission to help society make plans and documentation for their future. This started with the development of ‘MyWishes’.

MyWishes takes a public health approach to advance care planning and end of life planning

Each person document’s their own wishes and upon completion, shares them with the relevant people (loved ones, GP etc)

MyWishes is free for everyone to use across the UK. We adapt (hyperlocalise) the platform to the needs of local communities. Our current partners include Newham Council, Lancashire & South Cumbria ICB, Health and Social Care Northern Ireland and Hillingdon Health Partners.

About MyWishes Care (MyWishes.Care)

MyWishes Care empowers health and care professionals with Advance Care Planning. We do this by providing care organisations with a high quality and simple to use solution.

Upon completion, Advance Care Planning documentation is created and shared both with the person, their GP and anyone else who might be involved with their care.

Is has been developed for use in care settings and when providing home or virtual care.

It has been developed to fix the problem of over complex software solutions. Simplicity ensures that the patient is the core focus.

MyWishes & MyWishes Care (a whole life approach)

MyWishes and MyWishes Care work symbiotically enabling a ‘whole life approach’ to care planning.

When a person is able and will to document their wishes online MyWishes is there to support them. Awareness takes place through a ‘public health approach.

When a person is unable or unwilling to document their wishes online, MyWishes is there to support the person (when consent is provided).

Sharing and learning nationally and internationally

We love to share, collaborate and learn. It both informs our own understanding and direction whilst helping others to provide better, human-centred care.

MyWishes and MyWishes Care is largely focused in the UK.

We have however also worked with international organisations such as the European Law Institute and the European Association of Palliative Care.

Grassroots campaigning, training and empowerment

Our grassroots campaigning, training and empowerment takes place in various community, educational, health and other settings.

Grassroots work is an important part of local, national and international change.

We can often be found collaborating, learning and sharing in care homes, hospices, community groups and specialist palliative care teams making a difference within their local community

Much of the work we provide is voluntary and for educational, reflective and development purposes.
